Project Details:Mission Bay Block N-1 contains 1.4 million square feet of retail and residential space, located in the burgeoning Mission Bay/Pac Bell Park neighborhood in San Francisco, one block from the northern terminus of Interstate 280.
This reinforced concrete project consists of east and west building complexes, bisected by a pedestrian plaza. The two sides are roughly symmetrical, and each consists of four buildings that are seven, eight, nine and 16 stories tall. The project will have 595 apartment units, more than 950 covered parking spaces, office space, a grocery store and retail stores.
Solution:Aside from providing an integrated, comprehensive structural system design, NYA assessed the regional geologic hazards, earthquake hazards at the project site, engineering representation of earthquake ground shaking and impacts on the building performance.
Additionally, NYA completed modeling and a structural analysis, evaluated building performance criteria and findings as well as examined loss analysis results.
